$15.4M are available to offset your company costs for worker training through the Job Skills Program (JSP) matching grant. The funds are for companies and non-profit organizations who need customized training and development for their new or existing workers and are administered through your local community and technical colleges.
How does this JSP Program work? Your company works directly with Invista Performance Solutions, a partnership of your local colleges. We bring out industry expert trainers and consultants to help plan a scope of work with you at no cost. We consult with you to identify your training needs and help you craft a training solution. You can also use this funding for your own selected consultants and existing programming.
We write your application for you! Then we apply for the grant on your behalf and funding is released upon approval. The total amount of your trainee payroll paid during training hours is the company “match” and is applied as your contribution to the cost of the training. Your paid wages need to match the project expenses at 100%. There may be a 5-15% requirement of cash as a match down payment on your JSP grant, depending on your organization’s annual revenue.
Small Businesses get a special advantage! Businesses of all sizes can benefit from the JSP grant but those with an annual gross revenue under $500K have an exemption to 100% matching requirements–your wages do not have to equal 100%; you only have to agree to pay your employees their normal wages while in training.
Huge Success for Pierce County businesses! During last two fiscal years we have secured over $1.3M in funding for 19 companies in WA State including Rainier Woodworking, Plumb Signs, Heritage Distilling, Tool Gauge, GlobalTech Plastics, BiteMe Cookies, Celebrity Gourmet, Berry Global, and Wilcox Farms. We have worked with organizations across many sectors: logistics and distribution, manufacturing, healthcare, social services and non-profits, landscaping and construction, and food production.
